Like "The Fire Within" Nicholas came up with this concept after some uniquely torn paper on a contrasting background caught his eye. He took that simple inspiration and turned it into an explosive, eye-catching masterpiece. The front panel is a decoratively ground stainless steel panel with angled streaks invoking motion and activity, with the accuracy and consistency that is a staple of Nicholas' work. Both the grind pattern and the material is contrasted beautifully with a torch colored back panel, which features a vertical wavy grind that seems to be pulling at the ends. The copper is creatively exposed in a gaping hole that Nicholas created with his handheld plasma cutter. The dual layering technique gives this metal wall sculpture visual depth and natural shadowing.
