sculpture is basically a vertical, single-panel relative of the Polar Encapsulation
sculpture, which is one of Nicholas' most renound pieces. It's upward ripples are often compared to oceanic waves. These consistent wavy patterns are carefully ground with a steady hand. The slick, polished surface adds to the watery appearance of the metal panels. Beams of light reflect individually off of the deep grind patterns, adding to the illusion.
Variations of this grind pattern can be found on numerous Nicholas Yust wall sculptures and can be put together as an impressive collection.
