Skype is a 100% hand-crafted original work of contemporary art by Cincinnati artist Nicholas Yust. It features an arching grind pattern with creative geometry reminiscent of a seashell. He uses a variety of tools, grits, textures and angles to actually etch the patterns into the surface of the metal panels. The careful attention to the curves and angles of the sweeping pattern gives the artwork life movement, particularly as light reflects from different angles as you walk by.
Skype is a gorgeous design that is surprisingly versatile, obviously working in contemporary, urban and eclectic settings, but also being elegant and soft enough to work in traditional spaces as well.
