Description: 'Polar Encapsulation' is one of Nicholas Yust's most appreciated metal wall sculptures. It's upward ripples are often compared to oceanic waves. The aquatic theme fits surprisingly well with a few of Nicholas' single-panel pieces (see also Trunion, Green/Blue Inversion, and Passing Currents). These consistent wavy patterns are carefully ground with a steady hand. The slick, polished surface adds to the watery appearance of the metal panels. Beams of light reflect individually off of the deep grind patterns, adding to the illusion.
Variations of the Polar Encapsulation piece are extremely popular all over the world, especially in areas near the ocean, such as Florida, California and Australia (or with those Office Executives wishing they were there!).
