Metal Sculptures

Metal sculptures take many forms. Throughout history various metals have been used to create standing sculptures: bronze, copper, silver, gold and steel, just to name a few. In recent years, many metal artists have opted to use alloys such as aluminum to create their sculptures (particularly in place of steel) because the material does not rust, corrode or develop patina. High-quality aluminum can be used outdoors in direct sunlight or just about any weather conditions, and the artwork will be just fine.

Metal Sculpture Artists

There are many artists today that will create a sculpture in metal, however few if any have the experience and expertise that Nicholas Yust has. With a background in both art and engineering, Nicholas has both higher education and real world experience in artistic design and heavy-duty metal engineering. These two skills and passions combine to make him perhaps the most talented, recognized and respected metal sculpture artists in the world.

Metal Sculpture Techniques

Some metal artists will use molds or casts to create their sculpture art, while others might hammer their designs. Some artists use wrought iron for functional art, while others use sheet metal for more decorative sculptures. Welding, hammering, bending, drilling and bolting are common practice among just about all metal sculpture techniques.

Nicholas Yust, as a more modern/abstract/contemporary style artist uses sheet metal to create his metal sculptures. He uses decorative grind patterns and semi-transparent paints for the design and coloring of the sculptures. The artist will then cut, bend and weld the sculpture to the desired artistic shape/design and mount it on a sturdy base. Any sculpture direct from Nicholas Yust will be entirely hand-crafted by the artist himself.
